I am a neophyte woodworker, and fell in love with the craft, when some girl turned my heart to sawdust about 30 years ago!!
I have just made a foldable Red Cedar Adirondack Chair that amazingly didn’t collapse when I tried a test sit on it, the first time!
I am pretty proud of it, and will build more like it…
My question is this: Where does one find or buy labels that will say, as in my case……..Made By The Cussin Woodworm,
address, date, etc.??
Thanks for any assistance in this matter……..

custom irons are sold in the back of FWW in the classified section. Most of the big online woodworking shops offer them as well. check rockler, lee valley or japan woodworker.
If you want labels any sign dealer can hook you up. If i were to go that route id use a branding iron as mentioned above
Thanks much.....
Shall check out the options on the branding irons.
Just hope my brother (he's bigger than me!) doesn't decide to use it on me???

I get the 1" diameter round buttons that you drill a hole 1/16" with a Forstner bit. Then use super glue to mount it permanemt flush with the surface.
Try http://www.woodenpost.com or http://www.thewoodenpost.com as I think that's it. They will make at a reasonable price. If I'm off with the site, I will dig it out of the shop.

You are a font of great info. Many thanks

If you know, share it. It won't fit in that wooden box where it doesn't do anyone any good. ha..ha..
Thanks for the compliment. I'm going to maje my wife read your post. She wouldn't believe it if I just told her I got a compliment. Come to think if it, I may print it and frame it. May be my only shot this life-time. < G >

I just received my order of medallions from The Wooden Post. They are great and well worth the money.
As an interesting (to me) side note, I had chosen to leave the date off the imprint figuring I could never make 40 (the quantity in the basic order) things in a year. Darned if I didn't get a call at 8:30 one night from someone I think was the owner (missed his name like I generally do ) suggesting perhaps I include the name of my town in lieu of the date.
How about that for service. It really made an impression.
Thanks again for this referral and all the rest.

Glad you were pleased. I did the same thing. No date, just "From the Shop Of" an my name with my city or town at the bottom. Like my designs of furniture, I like it simple an to the point.
Yes, the folks are very nice. It's very small business run by family members. I always make a point to drop by their booth at the Atlanta WW Show. They are as nice in person as they appear on the phone. Small business folks like that deserve our support, they appreciate your business an go out of their way to bring you back. Let your WW friends know...
Have fun drilling installation holes with that forstner bit. ha..

Hi, Nate,
I just bought one of these and it works great. For the electric version the price is about $70.

Thanks much.........and of all the branding iron company's I've checked so far, this one looks the best!
Happy Trails........Nate
Another way to do it is with India ink, and an old fashioned quill pen. That is what I
have been doing of late, and people seem to like it.

Thanks Alan.....
Your idea may be the cheapest way out for me? I'll have to decide between it, and a branding iron......???
In the interim, I shall just keep on cutting and cussin......
Happy Trails.......Nate
