I looked at a Mack Tool Co. wood lathe last night. Lathe has an 8′-0″ + bed and about a 14″ swing. 220V motor, unsure of HP. Seller wants $200.00 This thing is big ! I know there is a web site of old machine tool companies, does anybody know this site, or has anyone heard of this manufacturer ? What do you think ? this looks like a good deal.

I think you have and extra dot at the end. Here it is again:

Take a good look, but from what you've said, how could you go wrong at that price?
Sounds great! Just check to see if it is 3-phase power.
If you have room for such a large machine, then grab it and run. It's safe to assume that it was made for industrial use. At worst it might need bearings, and it might be hard to find accessories such as face-plates or tool rest holders.
