Hi All, I’m in the designing process of a Mobil work bench/ out feed table/ miter saw combination table. I want to add a fold up table at each end for the miter saw and I’m looking for the right folding brackets, Anybody have any suggestions?
Thanks, Dick

Dick,
I attached two flip up wings to my CMS/planner cabinet. Not sure if that is what your planning? I cut two pieces of plywood in triangular shapes and attached them to the sides of the cabinet with piano hinges. The wings are hinged just below the top of the cabinet. The design came from the Jigs Book by taunton
Thanks for the infomation,
Dick
Dick,
Do you mean a folding set-up for your chop saw fences? Or are you talking about the revolving stands for multiple tools?

Hi Sawick,
I'm talking about the fold up extensions for each end of the of the Miter saw table. The table will be 6Ft long with the foldups about 2-1/2 Ft each for a total of 11 ft length.
Thanks, Dick
Howdy back atcha Dick,
I thought that was what you meant (chop saw folding fence extensions). I built a similar fixture in the shop and used salvaged door hinges both for the fence extensions and support legs. One thing I did add was adjustable feet (T nuts and bolts) for the legs. The leg adjustment capability is nice to true up the fence with. My chop saw is mounted on a large old filing cabinet with wheels. Thus, I can move it around pretty easily and the file drawers are convenient to store blades, jigs, etc within. However, sometimes a floor is not level- that is where the adjustable legs come in handy-especially with long heavy stock.
In a cabinet shop where I once worked, they had the chop saw mounted with one side of the fence (left) about 20 feet long, and the right side only about 4 feet. This made pretty good sense to me since most miter cuts tend to be made from the left.

Just looked. McMaster.com has a set that is rated for 200lbs. Pt#1570A11 $33.78. #1571A11 is only $16.09, but good for only 75lbs. Oh, 1756A3 supports 100lbs for $13.20/set. Type any of these numbers in their website and it'll take you to the right page.
I have a couple of better sets then those laying around, but I bought a used cabinet just for the hardware, so have no idea where they came from.
I think rockler or woodworkers supply also carries some that may work, but my memory could be wrong. A folding wood brace is obviously the cheapest, but not quite as convienent.
