I stored my saw four years ago with my brother, while I was stationed in Germany. Picked it up recently, and upon reassembling it, I found that my fence rails are missing. Brother doesn’t have them, so I figure either he or I miss placed them.
Can anyone recommend a good replacement item and source for a new one. Exact replacements aren’t available. It’s a Delta Shopmaster TS300. I do not have unlimited funds, so I’m looking for something equal or better than stock, but not too fancy. Thanks.

You might consider the Delta 36" T2 fence. CPO appears to have a special at about $180. You may need to drill new holes in the rail to match your saw, however, as well as buying US threaded flat-head bolts to attach them. The screws that came with mine were metric.
HomeHack,
It looks like the rails are nothing but 1x2 x 10 gauge steel tubing (check your fence first to see if my dimensions are right). Go to your local steel supply house and you should be able to pick a stick of it or try a welding shop- they may have off cuts that they will sell for a lot less (most steel supply places only sell 20 foot sticks). If the angle that the rails rest on is missing also then you will need to get that as well. The advantage here is you can make the fence as long as you need it. Drill and tap a few holes in the rail to mount it to the saw. Pick up an adhesive backed steel tape (left to right reading) from Mcmaster Carr and stick it on top of your new painted rail and you set. Alternatively you could purchase a complete new fence but that will cost a few more bucks.
Good luck,
Tom
Because the TS300 really falls into the category of "compact" saw, and not a full contractor saw (22" deep vs 27" deep), I wonder if there are any considerations to fitting a standard size fence on that saw...not to mention the justification of the cost.
Using some stock steel tubing might be the most logical answer....you might also find a used fence from an older 36-600 or similar saw, which preceeded the TS300 and TS350.
All,
Thanks for your help.

Take a look at the VEGA fence system. vegawoodworking.com
The utility model is perfect for your saw. Pro model is a bit more $$$
I have a Beismeyer on my PM 66 and a Vega Pro 50" on my vintage PM 62 contractors saw. I like them both, but the VEGA is just as accurate and easier to use.
