i’m looking for a source for lighting(decorative) for a furniture project i’m working on:
specifically a vanity. the lighting for around the mirror. i’m not having too much luck with those damn search engines, anything i type turns up a dead end. so if anyone knows of a company who specializes in such types of lighting, i would greatly appreciate a reply.
thanks,

I have made several large medicine cabs with lights set around the sides and top. I got the parts from a local lamp parts store. They are are ver elegant, since the only thing visable is the light socket (recessed) and the bulb. No fixture per se.
jake,
Try Van Dyke's Restorers. If you strike out there (very unlikely) then look at Rocklers and Lee Valley. All three have web sites and all three are a pleasure to deal with.

Go to outwater.com , they have a good selection of cabinet and recessed lighting.

Home Depot sells rope lighting that I've used on a couple of projects. It has halogen lamps spaced at 1" intervals in a flexible clear plastic tube. It comes in various lengths which can be connected together as necessary.
When I've used it on bookcases, I put it behind the face frame so you don't see the rope, and I use electrical tape to wrap any sections of the rope I need to mask off.
hello jake
I don't know if "Hafele" supply items your side of the pond, but they have a wide range of lighting systems available (mains and low voltage). They have several catalogues to cover hinges, lights, kitchen fittings etc.
