Looking for old post/thread : Nurse cut own arm on power saw
I once read a post and am looking to find it again. I think it was on Knots.
There was a woman who luckily was a Nurse. She was using her power saw, I believe it was a radial arm saw but may have been a table saw. She caught the sleeve of her long sleeve shirt in the blade and it cut off her arm.
I am not kidding here.
She put on a tourniquet and drove her self to the ER.
Does anyone here recall that story ? Can you help me find it ? I have been searchin’ but nut’in.
PS: I suppose it could have been on WoodCentral but I can’t even get on there any more. Something about a Java down load. I never had to before and so may not now.
It could also have been in the FWW paper magazine but I still think it was here on Knots.

Ouch
I don't recall seeing a post here about the incident, but Google found it in a newspaper:
http://www.dispatch.com/content/stories/local/2011/09/02/then-i-saw-my-hand-lying-on-the-ground.html
And, it was a miter saw.
Wow !
That's a bad one too.
Nope that's not the one. The person was wearing a button sleeve flannel shirt, was definitely a nurse and definitely drove herself.
I can't recall if the arm/hand was saved.
I must have seen it in the magazine then. ( I swear we were talking to her here though )
Thanks for searching.
One of the guys at work can't believe it could happen. He says "Oh I would feel it and just pull my arm back or stop moving the saw". Sounds good but . . .
Nurse
Did she take the arm with her ?
