I am starting to get into bigger projects, and I feel that wood from Rockler and Woodcraft are too expensive and they have a limited inventory. I would appreciate all recommendations on wood suppliers that you have used in the New England area, specifically in MA/NH.
Many thanks.

Try http://www.woodfinder.com/. Pretty darn useful, though it doesn't provide the recommendations you want. Rockler and Woodcraft are great, but for wood selection, they're not the best. To be fair, my lumber supplier doesn't sell router bits or LN planes or hollow chisel mortisers. Each store has its place!
Thanks for the site, I will take a look at it.
Northland Forest Products. They are in Kingston NH off of rte 125. A little further up the road in Brentwood NH you'll find Highland Hardwoods. They carry some exotics as well(at least used to). While you are in the neighborhood, stop by Brentwood Machine also on rte 125. You could make a day of it for sure!!!

These are some of the larger, more established suppliers to the industry in New England. Deliveries are available throughout the region.
Beat it to fit / Paint it to match
Highland Hardwoods on Rt. 125 in Brentwood, NH
Goose Bay on Rt. 4 in Chichester, NH
There's also reclaimed and antique lumber yards around in W. Mass and Ct. 100 year old chestnut, heart pine, oak, etc. Pretty much on par with the exotics in beauty and price.
