I’ve apparently bumped or dropped my LN 103 bronze block plane, because there is a raised bump at the very back edge of the sole. It’s very slight, but it’s enough to keep the plane from tracking flat. What’s the best way to take this down? I was thinking of using my Norton waterstones, but I’d like to hear your suggestions. Thanks. Tom

Hi Tom
Lap it off on 400 grit wet & dry (glued to glass). This is less messy and more stable than waterstones.
It will be as good as new.

Thanks Derek. I've got the materials and will take care of it today. Tom"Notice that at no time do my fingers leave my hand"
I'd go diamond plate or file it then the emory. Wet or dry is for polishing not cutting. You are needing to "cut".rocGive me six hours to chop down a tree and I will spend the first four sharpening the axe. Abraham Lincoln ( 54° shaves )
Derek's suggestion is a good one.
