Could anyone please tell me the dimensions (height, depth, width) of the welded housing for the Lie Nielsen tail vise (large tail vise). They tell you the overall legnth and the diameter of the screw, but not the height and depth. These dimensions would be helpful as I am drawing up the construction of a workbench.
Thank you.

I can not help you with that one but I have built three of the “John Nyquist” style tail vices and I can highly recommend them. A lot less money as there is only a bench screw for hardware and they have a lot more clamping options. There is a great description in Lon Schleining’s book on workbenches.

3 3/16" H x 2 9/16" D x 17 5/16" L
While the dimensions help with planning, I wouldn't cut wood until I had the actual unit in hand.
