I’m looking for information regarding
liablity insurance for woodworkers.
What is recommended if you are only a
partime woodworker and on occasion build a piece for a client. Thanks.

David: The average policy is 1 mil. You may be covered already if your shop is in your home or on the other hand your shop and your work may not be covered at all because you are making money at woodworking. To an insurance company they see that as a home business. Its does pay to have insurance,
all you need is one accident to happen and good bye house, tools, shop, cars etc. I pay $750.00 a yr. and
that covers my shop, tools, material, work in progress, on the job liablity and so on. Why take a chance your insurance may be able to be a rider of some sort of your home owner insurance. Good luck
*David, the pine tree man is right, but why dont you check into Limited Liability corporations, you dont pay corporate income tax on these, your Sec of state office can send you the information or just type it into your web browser and you will get all the info you could ever use. I dont blame you for wanting to protect yourself, it wise to do so these days with so many sue happy so and sos out there.
*I Pre-made butcher block stock, where to get it?...>I'm a glorified wood butcher who's better at bending nails than sinking them, and get myself into these situations. This time a friend wants a simple kitchen cart with butcher block top and I really don't want to do the glue up myself. Where can I find butcher block "stock", pre-assembled of course! Thanks
