Here’s another interesting item I just got. It’s a maple burl cap, nearly 2 feet across and about 5-6″ thick at the center. What’s this one worth? It has a reatil price tag attached but I think this was originally purchased many years ago. I intend to sell. Make an offer if interested. I’m located in Douglas, Massachusetts.

The burl is a beautiful piece of wood. I'd buy it but then I'd have to buy a 5k dollar lathe to turn it. It was fun learning the conversion of a cylinder of wood to board feet. Math in application is a great way of learning ( or relearning) the concepts.
I really have no idea what a fair price is for the burl. I imagine it's about supply and demand and what the "market" will bear.
Let me know if you determine a fair value.
I have no idea what its worth, but I know in my searching for oddities I have seen Hearne Hardwoods selling such pieces. You might want to check there to see what they think similar burl pieces are worth.
Good luck
