Have new Delta 14 in lathe and lots of larch ( Tamarak) wood available in the forest nearby. Need info on how this wood is to turn. Most of what I have is very dry (standing dead snags.) Would like to turn bowls

I haven't turned much of it but larch does tend to be very unstable and prone to splitting if you are not careful. The few things that I have turned have be from kiln dried lumber and have mostly been glue ups and small turned handles. I find it to be a very nice looking wood when finished though.
