Need to buy a laminate trimmer. Will see light duty at first, never any production work. I am a firm believer on spending a little extra to get a tool that is going to perform and give you the least amount of down time over saving 10% to 20% and having more headaches. Most of reviews I have seen so far put praise on the Porter Cable 310 but almost all say the same thing about the bits being hard to change. Any suggestions?
Thank You

I have the PC 7310, and am very happy with it. I don't trim laminate, but use it for rounding over edges, mostly. It has a spindle lock so bit changes are easy. Also, it's $70 less than the 310. I assume you have other routers?
I would highly recommend the PC #310, it is a sturdy easy to handle tool that is the easiest to precisely adjust of all the trimmers, an item of critical importance when working with small bits. I also like it because it is very easy to make new bases for the machine.
I found that it was very easy to change the bits on the 310, the motor simply snaps out of the base with a simple straight up pull, there's no need to unthread the body from the base. I suspect that some of the people who have reviewed the machine didn't realize that it has this function.

Thank you very much. I figured for it to receive high praise from a broad field of users the one noted problem must not be something that can't be overcome. I went ahead and ordered it.
Maybe I should re-think my decision to buy the 7310...
