I sent an inquiry to Laguna regarding their 8″ jointer, asking a couple of product questions as well as inquiring as to the shipping cost to my zip code. I got a cc:’d copy of an email the person to whom I’d sent my inquiry had forwarded on to another person within the company, pointing out that I’d previously looked into buying a 16″ bandsaw and never bought one. I’ve not received any other response to my inquiry. Apparently if you ask about a product and don’t end up buying it you’re blacklisted with them.

Yes they are a bit nutty. Worth the effort in my case. I recieved a nice bandsaw to the door of my shop in perfect shape. I got a nice "package" that was not available in the out of date literature they sent me. The "package" meaning price of several options now standard equip at price reduction.
So maybe they can't run an office but they make great tools in my view.
Hang in there !

I own Laguna and MiniMax machines. I have had better customer service from Laguna than I have had with MiniMax. There isn't a lot of hand holding from either companies. The manuals from both stink.
What Frank said...the tools are just fine though...
Ditto on the products. Have not needed their customer service help since getting a LT18 several years ago. Only called to order accessories and got good helpful follow-up each time. They make some great machinery.
I have had nothing but excellent service from Laguna....I did not even buy my combination Robland or Laguna band saw from them. I bought them both used over the internet. I had trouble setting the Robland up and they have assisted me on all occasions. Kudos to Laguna.
I sent an inquiry to them regarding their drum sander. They sent some material, but the drum sander was not included. I was then contacted by a salesman. I told him that I doubted I would make the purchase without any details or being able to see the unit. He said I could not have one anyway as they were out of stock. A while later, I received another sales call from them. Again I explained that I was not sure that I was interested in the Laguna. Again, I was told I could not have one anyway as they were back ordered. This exchange happened one more time. I decided I would just avoid Laguna and their sales tactic.
