Well as we have recently had “safety week” a while ago I thought I would bring this up. This does not involve any personal injury. At the end of the day when I am in my shop I tend to try and keep any work very lite, ie; minimize big tool usage. As I was gauging some olf fir for jointing the next day I noticed a nail hole but could not see a nail or feel one . I pencil marked both edges by an inch so I would rip the board down the next day before jointing. Next a.m. rolls around, I bound into the shop already to go and proceed to the jointer and voila………….. might as well be a personal injury. Jointed the nail and again voila, a nice big crescent 1/8″ + on my knives. Moral of the story….. don’t wait to pull out a nail or rip the board. Nah, not at all, I walked away from my tools when I was tired, I just wish I would have better marked the board so as not to miss my plan. Or have my coffee before I get to the shop.

Makes sense to walk away when you know it's time.
I keep a roll of masking tape and a sharpie close by and leave myself notes stuck on the relevant item so I don't forget things I shouldn't.
I hear you! Been there and did that more than a few times..
