Keeping Glue From Sticking to Clamping Cauls
Made some poplar clamping cauls last spring and brushed three coats of wb finish on all surfaces. Worked for a while, but hot hide glue last week stuck in several spots and lifted the finish. If I remove the wb finish I’d like to apply a non-stick coating that won’t transfer to the stock being cauled.
Looking for suggestions before I blunder ahead trying danish oil blend for lack of good sense.

I use polyethylene or some times wax paper under the work pieces.
Packing Tape
I've used clear packing tape - the kind used to tape up boxes - with great success.

Saran wrap also works, and wrapped around clings to itself enough to make easy to use, but not all that difficult to remove.
glue on clamping cauls
My clamping cauls are pemanently covered (1 surface) with packers tape. I remove and replace when necessary. Works great, cheap.

Wax paper.
From one Don to another --- plain wax paper is what I use. It works great.
Another vote for packing tape.
