I would like to purchase a second set of jointer knives for my Delta 37-365X 8″ jointer. I need to determine the size of the knives to order aftermarket replacement knives. I would also like recommendations on type and source.
Thank you in advance

The blades from any reputable supplier are all likely to be about equal in quality.
If you lower your jointer's outfeed table you should be able to see the side of a blade in the head and get the thickness and width of the blades. There are only one or two sizes in 8" blades, they are pretty much universal no matter who made the machine, so you should have no problem finding what you need.

Infinity tools sells carbide blades for jointers. They are pricy, but I imagine that they would last a looooong time.

Like John said on how to measure them.
I do disagree on quality. Most any knives you buy after market should be better quality than the original knives.
Your local sharpening service should be able to help. Look in the the yellow pages or contact some local cabinet makers and see who they use for sharpening. Amana,
http://www.cggschmidt.com has a chart of various jointers to look up many sizes of knives. Good quality knives as well.
http://www.ridgecarbidetool.com/index.htm Ridge Carbide is good as well. There's hundreds of places to buy knives out there.
