Oliver is no longer in business, hasn't been for years. Northfield still makes old style jointers in the U.S., starting price is around $12,000.

I did find Olivers website. http://www.olivermachinery.net

Government's view of the economy could be summed up in a few short phrases: If it moves, tax it. If it keeps moving, regulate it. And if it stops moving, subsidize it.
The ad is misleading. Someone bought the name. There is where the similarity ends. The old stuff was made in the states, the new stuff is made overseas. A former employee, Rich Fink bought the remaining patterns etc and started Eagle Machine. The original Oilver is gone. Same with Rockwell tools. Someone bought the name so it's confusing many people.
feel like I'm in area 51 ....
No. It's only the Twilight Zone.
The real Oliver is gone as a manufacturer, only the name remains.John White
I see, said the blind man. All is clear!Government's view of the economy could be summed up in a few short phrases: If it moves, tax it. If it keeps moving, regulate it. And if it stops moving, subsidize it.
Bob,
I think I remember reading something about the Oliver name being resurrected by some former employees. I don't know if the quality is the same, but check out this website: http://www.eaglemachinery-repair.com/Oliver_1.htm . If you are looking for vintage Oliver stuff, check out http://www.OWWM.org and look in the "bring out your dead" section, this is the stuff for sale.
Try http://www.olivermachinery.net
