I saw the Jointech Smart Miter (JSM-48) at our wood show here in Detroit and was quite impressed. There are several very well thought out ideas incorporated in this jig. The one that is REALLY intriging is the concept it has in keeping the edge of the miter fence exactly at the blade cutting edge no matter what angle the jig is set for. I understand that this is controlled by the arc and not the connection at the hinge point. The presentation made a very good impression about how repeatable and accurate the jig is.
However, I have been hearing mixed reviews from owners. Are any of you owners of this jig? Can you give me your impressions of how you like your jig.
How well does the unique method of keeping the right miter edge at the cutting edge of the saw work over time?
What is your experience with the Jointech people?
The base price I find is $259. Is that the going rate everywhere?

I can't respond to the price - I bought mine at least 5 years ago.
But, I will praise the accuracy and performance. I keep mine stacked (leaning against the legs of my planer) near my Unisaw. It is used regularly. Recently I had an out-of-square miter to match. I determined that I needed an angle 1 1/4 degrees off 90. I set it up and it matched perfectly. All done in 30 seconds. Go for it!

I purchased a jointtech several years ago and after setting it up on my saw was pleasantly surprised how accurate it was. I was making some frames to go around mirrors that were rather large. about 2 1/2' x 3'. I was concerned about the 45 degree corners and wanted to be sure they were dead on. they turned out great.
I haven't had any problems with chip out on the cut ends but find I get the best cut with a good sharp blade.
I don't have a very good miter gauge so the sled gets used on a very regular basis.
The only downside I have noticed is the increased height caused by the sled's bed while making some cuts or when wanting to do a dado. Will probably supplement the sled with a good miter gauge.
Is this one on E-bay the same model you're looking at?
