Good Morning,
I am about 3 weeks away from building my first pembroke table and I am searching for a book to use as a reference guide. The book is “The Furniture Masterworks of John and Thomas Seymour”. It was authored by Robert D Mussey Jr. and is not out of print.
If anyone has a copy they would be willing to sell me, please let me know. I do have a friend that has one and will loan it to me, but I don’t trust shipping companies with the book. My luck they would lose it and I would not be able to replace it.
Thank-you very much for your help.
Jeff

The Furniture Masterworks of John and Thomas Seymour
Robert D., Jr. Mussey
This beautifully illustrated book is a significant addition to texts on American furniture history. It traces the lives of the Seymours and discussion of many of their most important pieces. John and Thomas Seymour were major cabinetmakers in New England during the Federal Period (1780s-1820s.)
The art and architecture of ancient Greece and Rome, with their fine proportion, symmetrical arrangement of parts, and decorative details became influential. The Seymours mastered this elegant style and used it to create some of the finest pieces of American furniture. Their designs influenced the work of other artisans and set a standard for painstaking workmanship.
Analysis and construction details of many major Seymour pieces.

If it's actually true that Cambium has this book (unless they're reprinting it), you'd better act extremely quickly. When available, this book fetches multiple hundreds of dollars on sites like Alibris.
Unfortunately, the link goes to amazon where it is not available but thank-you for trying.Jeff
Try Powells in Portland.

Jeff,
Have you seen the book? It has one very plain looking Pembroke Table (they apparently weren't popular in Boston during the period).
The book in the following link has several nice examples with good detail photos of the construction.
