I’m just finishing up four jewelry boxes for granddaughters and a niece..I would like to build an insert that has dividers so they can put in earrings, etc….I resawed some of the walnut into 1/8 in. thick by 1 inch high strips to make the dividers. I have some leftover 1/4 inch cherry plywood for the bottom…will glue be strong enough to keep the whole thing together or do I need to put in some staples or brads?

Since you are using Ply, you don't have any wood movement to worry about. And, there won't be that much weight unless the jewelry is REALLY chunky, so I think a good quality glue should be plenty strong.
