Does anyone know if there are any qualitative differences between the Jet and Powermatic in the 6×89 inch edge sanders?
(Powermatic model 13 and Jet EHVS-80). I have seen them in person and am planning to purchase one or the other in the coming year.

I can't answer your question directly; however, I know who can. Powermatic and Jet are owned by the same parent company and share the same Customer Service. My recommendation would be to call Powermatic/Jet Customer Service: 800-274-6848. They provide accurate, quick, helpful customer service and should be able to answer your question.
Thanks. Yes. I tried that. The tech was very helpful and kind but seemed to only check the specs of the machines and said if they were both painted the same color, you probably couldn’t tell them apart. But I know one diff from the descriptions, that the table sizes of the Jet is apparently 3 inches longer and 2 inches narrower than the PM. I was hoping someone had seen or, better yet, used both machines. Oh. well, probably about the same.
I have the pm, I use it hourly and it works grate. The tracking stays right on, good power, I like the graphite on the platen (it came with it , not the Jet). I can’t come up with any complaints!
They seem to all be made by the same company. I can’t tell whey the Jet is more money. Maybe the white paint?
Jeff in so cal
