I have a Jet 10″ table saw (Model JWSS – 10 LFR) that has the bad habit of frequently breaking the belt that raises and lowers the blade height. Does anyone know if a heavy duty belt is available, or if there is a simple solution to this problem?
Thanks.

It sounds to me like you have one of the original Jet Supersaw hybrids. They were prone to that problem but AFAIK they corrected it in future versions. You might try contacting Jet and asking what they recommend.
Thanks for the reply.
I contacted Jet and they were not aware of the problem. The rep suggested that I inspect the pulleys (actually, gears, since it uses a timing belt) for burrs or sharp edges. I did that and found that in the areas where the set screws go into the gears the teeth were rough and sharp enough to cut your finger. Like they suggested I used a small file and a round stone from a Dremel to make the area smooth. As soon as the belt arrives I'll put it back together and see what happens.
Thanks again.

That's disappointing that they couldn't or wouldn't offer assistance for a very well documented issue. Maybe another try would get another rep who's familiar with it, or perhaps contacting their Tech Support as opposed to Customer Service.I Googled "jet supersaw belt issue" and got many hits that acknowledged it. Here's a link to someone who had a fix:http://www.woodworking-online.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=4516
