I need to update my jointer and planer and just saw that Jet’s new jointer/planer on their website. Any input regarding this machine or other replacement options will be much appreciated.

That link is to a tablesaw - not a planer/jointer - please repost link.

Hello, thanks for your review of the Jet planer/jointer. Two questions: does the planer snipe, and can you put this on a mobile base.
Ken Rosenberg
All planers will snipe if you do not support the wood going in and out to prevent it torquing up into the knives. The one we used did not snipe when the wood was supported.
I guess you can put anything on a mobile base but I would make sure it is a substantial base with a machine this big.Tom Hintz

Hello Tom,Thanks for your reply. As the board enters and leaves the planer, it lies on the in- and outfeed tables. Once the rollers "grab" the board, the operator cannot control the way it is fed through the machine. Can you explain what additional support it is possible to add to avoid snipe? Do you mean lifting the ends of the board as it enters and leaves the rollers? Thanks, Ken
Using a simple roller stand on the infeed and outfeed sides, adjusted slightly higher than the tables will prevent the wood from torquing up into the knives.Tom Hintz

I have one on a mobile base and it works fine. The base that I used is Rocklers 92051

I am Jointer/Planer combo.
My complaint with these units are the limitation of only planing 12" wood.
Grizzly offers 2 different combo machines that you might also be interested in. I've never used or seen either of them but I have been impressed and satisfied with several of their newer designed machines.
