Another alternative that may save you problems/$ shipping paint :
Take a hunk of the lathe to a paint store that deals in automotive paint. They have a hand held electronic gizmo that they will put against the painted part you take in.
CLICK whuuurrrr BING !
And the gizmo will come up with a code that will allow them to mix paint while you wait that will be a perfect match. Cool huh ?

Bear in mind that normal automotive paint is meant for spraying and dries very quickly. Expect brush marks. You need to work in a totally draught free environment to minimise this. You should however also be able to get brushable touch-up paint which dries more slowly. This cannot later be overcoated with spray paint but shouldn't be a problem in this case.
Wood,
I wouldn't bother about the colour, except that the right colour for good machinery is dark green.(;)
Why not use a hammer tone type paint which is easy to apply and hard wearing-certainly a lot better than the original Jet stuff which no doubt is not even applied on top of an undercoat of some sort....
If it's an older one it could be blue.
If it's an older one, paint it off white and make it new.
