Here's a link to the manual, it will give you the part numbers for the parts. The machine is no longer in production.

From earlier posts it seems that the 1 1/2 hp shaper uses the same parts except the motor is bigger and it is still in production. If that is so I can just use the parts from it.
I have an extra 3/4" one from Jet's 3 HP machine. Find out if it will work and I'll sell it to you. It has never been used. I purchased it thinking I would need an extra... but I never did. I purchased it at ToolZone, in Denver. I think it was $75 plus tax. I'll let it go for $50.
Thank you very much. I'll take the router bit holder out and measure the end of it that goes in the machine. I can take pictures of it and i have a pair of calipers to measure it.
I went to the Jet website but they dirrect people to after market suppliers. I have a few emails sent out.
I took the throat plate out, the nut, and the collet out. Does this look familiar?
Do I need to take the whole shaft out? Or does the 3/4" spindle sit in there?
The 1/2" shaft has to come out. Remove the drawbar to get it out. You'll find a spindle lock under the table on the main spindle housing.

I've taken everything off except the main shaft which is 20mm.
You are there. The 3/4 shaft fits into that taper and down the hole. it is held tight by the drawbar.
The part number for the 3/4 shaft is JWS18HO-8-1A if it helps any.

Thanks for the help. The part # should help alot.

Did you see the posts? The part # is JWS18HO-8-1A for the 3/4" shaft if that helps.
I don't see how the 3 hp part is the same but who knows?
It doesn't look like the right part. Here is the manual for my shaper. It lists the part number on page 21 as 709526. http://content.jettools.com/manuals/M-708322.pdf
My spindles are keyed. This prevents the spindles from turning in the spindle shaft. Is your shaft keyed? Page 20 shows a good picture of what the spindle shaft looks like. Unfortunately, it does not show the keyed part of the spindle.
I know you can contact ToolZone. They have been selling Jet and Powermatic for years. They are located at:
Our Store Address:Tool Zone, Inc. 970 West 104th AvenueNorthglenn, CO 80234

Thanks tbagn. I emailed them and will see what they can do. The top of the main shaft of my shaper isn't keyed. I took the collet out of it. So it looks like the reverse of a collet. Kind of a tapered bell shape.
I might call them if they don't email.
I've contacted/talk to/emailed Toolzone in Denver several times.
I can't help but think this isn't going to work.
He's having me go to the Jet pdf file and get numbers for him.
Then he is emailing me back with my list with prices attatched.
Needless to say some of numbers were wrong. He added in a one I can't find on the pdf.
These parts are a special order so if they are wrong I'm sure they will want me to eat them.
I know what i want. I can't order them from Jet. And Toolzone is ..well..
Is there someone there I should talk to that knows parts.
All I want is a 3/4" spindle with everything on it.
And a 1/2 collet and a nut if it is different from the 1/4" one.
He won't talk to me about the parts. Just wants numbers.
Jet was difficult also.
By the time I get the parts I will know more about the parts than the Jet person or the the toolzone guy.

I've always worked with Larry. All of the guys there are good... but I prefer Larry.
Were you able to locate the owner's manual? If so, just go by the part number listed... you can also try ebay.
You could also call ToolKing (located in Lakewood). I've only purchased one thing from them (3HP SawStop) and their service was great. They have one guy that handles their "industrial" sales and he was extremely knowledgeable. Unfortunately, I don't recall his name... but when I called about the saw, they sent me right to him.

Oh, and dont get the Jet hold-downs... they sucked and are pretty much junk. Get a set of board buddies (the set that will spin in both directions) or a powerfeeder. Good luck!
the last couple of days it seems like people aren't listening. I ask them questions or tell them things and it just goes right past them.
I can do that for a while but after a couple of days of it with a bunch of people I start to get frustrated.
the Jet tool thing was just one of them.
I think it is the economy. People are thinking of themselves so much they can't listen to others.
I got ahold of someone at Jet who sent me a parts list. I have to look at it and get the numbers I will need. I'll order straight from them.
Thanks for the help!
