Neighbor bought it back around the first of this year. Has the original tool set and is in good condition. He really got the “turning bug” and had to get a big Powermatic rig to replace it. He paid $500 for it new. What’s it worth now?

$350-400 depending on condition and any accessories he may want to throw in. I am guessing that Jet will soon discontinue this model.
Cee,
Thanks for responding.
He's also throwing in the Nova chuck, including 10" jaws; the original HSS tool set (he bought a lot of other lathe tools over the past months); all of the original package items come with it as well. He said his original investment was around $800; he'll sell it to me for $300 because I've spent uncounted hours teaching him the basics of woodworking and tool usage.
How are things around Houston these days? I lived in Northwest Houston from 1980 until 1998 when we relocated to Florida. Sometimes wish we were back in God's Country (Texas - not Houston), especially when these storms keep coming at us.
