I’m kinda broke with a little bit of material left over and i kinda wanna make her something….but i cant really think of anything besides a jewelry box. So if anyone has any ideas go ahead and throw ’em out here. Thanks.

You could always use the scrap to make a new jig, but the jewelry box (scaled to the amount of material you have on hand) would probably go over better. ;-)
Other less-appreciated gifts might include: bird house, bat roost, wooden dust pan, or a coopered wooden mop bucket.
Thats hilarious...she would kill me. I kinda wanna keep her around a little longer.
Yes, a jewelry box, along with a promise to add to its contents when times are better, is usually much better than even the most finely-made mop bucket. ;-)
If she doesn't understand the economics, you might want to trade her in, anyway. ;-)
scroll saw her name and glue it onto a little platform with a nice card - personalized gift -

thought about that, but i packed my scroll saw away....i might try to inlay her name into something...good idea. Thanks.
Does she sew or cook? Something like a sewing box or even a counter top wooden hot-plate for setting that hot pot aside.
And then again it is a girl friend so maybe you would be better off taking her to dinner!
i cant take her to dinner....i have to watch her weight.
It's an inherant
It's an inherant characteristic of the human female to love nice little boxes. I've made many for wife, daughters, grand-daughters, friends, and have always found them well recieved.
I suggest, if you have access to a band-saw, a "band-sawed box". That is a box made from a solid block of wood from which a slice is taken off each side; the center remaining is turned on its side; a lid piece is cut out ; the inner hollow is cut out; the sides glued back on, making now a box; the lid can now be hinged in place. I would, however, (if you really love the gal) carve her initials on the lid. That will earn you many points.
There is now still a remaining block, which originally filled the space inside the box. This can be made into a smaller box, which will fit right inside the main box, or the block can be made into a tray that fits in the box.
Letter carving is fun, and not as hard as one might expect. I've done some with nothing mmore that a sharp carpenter's chisel. Lots of expensive carving tools are nice, but not necessary.
There are. of course, many variations on the "band-sawed box".
Give her a box (and a hug).

Thanks Tom. I've decided and
Thanks Tom. I've decided and started to make her a little necklace box that only holds one necklace. I put some pretty inlay on the lid. I'm hoping she'll like it. And I'm gonna try to find the money to fill it with a pearl necklace. And she will most certainly get a hug. Everyone was great. Thanks again.
