As I sit here enjoying my coffee and checking out knots, the low wind chill alarm on my Davis Weather Wizard III is steadily beeping indicating wind chills at between -32 and -54 degrees F. I have to go out and clear snow, warm up the shop, and plug in the glue pot. Anyone have a tropical home that needs a woodworker?

That's not too bad but the real problem is that Davis Unit. If you had an Oregon Scientific, like mine, you would realize the temperature is actually 134 -- daytime. It gets a little warmer at night.
Last time I saw real weather as cold as yours, the master brake cylinder on my van shattered.
For a while, it was in the single digits (°F) here when I'd awaken, but it has warmed up into the 20s, excluding wind chill.
One would think that Tupper Lake would have a lid on the weather, though, Bob. Perhaps someone at the weather service forgot to "burp" it? ;-)
Stay warm.
I guess living in the Caribbean does have its benefits. It is 84f this afternoon,a few Clouds but a lot of blue sky to match the crystal clear ocean surrounding the Island. the down side is lumber is very expensive here so if you are coming down bring some.
Thanks for all the offers of warmer digs, but I would find it hard to explain to my wife that I had to leave to do woodworking in a realy warm place and that she would need to stay here to keep an eye on things and keep my shop from freezing;)

Leave a note on the fridge? :-)

It’s cold here in Minnesota too. 3 degrees (F) below zero this morning. It took a little while to heat the shop today. Our neighbors left for Florida yesterday, didn’t offer to take us.
It’s so cold; I saw a dog frozen to a fire hydrant. At least I have more shop time now that there’s no yard work.
Bill
Yep it is a balmy 60 degrees here right now, but we are such wussies that I have the door closed and the heater on in my shop. You are welcome to come down and enjoy the shop, but you might it find it intimidating come July when it's 115 every day and a cold spell is a night below 90!
