Salut Chris,
I'm the one who wrote and deleted #2. I added the thread then I realized that he was refering to Irwin clamps while I was coming up with my experience with a model similar to the one made and named for Woodcraft, which is more like Bessey's model. I've been told they are made by Bessey but with cheaper material to get the cost down. I like them as I like my Besseys. And for both I modified the grip, as shown on my website.

I bought four a while back and have been surprised how well they work. Nice large clamp surface and great clamping action. The only thing i found was the little plastic support at the end breaks pretty easily, but I guess you have to give them credit for including them at all. This is an extra for the Bessy's. I have found they actually work a bit better than my Bessy's in some cases.
