Hi,
In Fine Woodworking No.108, Maro Rodriguez talks about tape sealing any splits or holes in the veneer prior to gluing. Can somebody confirm if this is a paper type tape with hide glue or something else? Looing forward to an answer as I am starting a rather challenging veneer project involving curved stair stringers.
In appreciation

Hello... I heard back from Mario Rodriguez. He recommends a solid (non-perforated) brown tape since he says it's a little stronger and easier to apply.
You can find it at Tools for Working Wood in NYC or online: http://www.toolsforworkingwood.com/Merchant/merchant.mvc?Screen=PROD&Store_Code=toolshop&Product_Code=MS-VENTAP.XX&Category_Code
Good luck with your veneering project,
Gina
