I recently read Gary Rogowski article on installing knife hinges. I want to install straight hinges. I woud like to know if the hinges should excess the side of the carcase or should they be flush to the side. If they excess by how much. My door is 3/4 inch thick. Should they excess by 3/8?

Knife Hinge Installation
Hi there gilles1949,
I've only installed the offset variety however, I checked with our art director - Michael Pekovich - who suggested this article from issue 179:

It's got all the information you should need. According to Mike: "The hinges should be outset from the case so that the center of the pin is aligned with the case edge."
Best,
Ed
