Does anyone have experience or knowledge of the Incra Miter Gauge 5000. Are their claims of accuracy and sturdiness close to being true? One issue that concerns me greatly is squaring the miter to the blade. I have a Delta 36-650 10″ table saw that does NOT allow for easy adjustment. Thanks … John

I have an Incra mitre guage and it seems to be dead-on accurate.
However, when I first got it, I had to "zero" it in -- I used a drafting square. I recheck it from time to time, but it has so far held the adjustment.
John, regardless of what miter gauge you use, your saw blade must be parallel to the miter slot. Don't let the fact that the 5000 is a sled (rather than just a gauge) fool you there.
OK, that being said, I have the Incra 1000 and have found it to be accurate and solid. When I got it, I first double-triple-checked my saw to make sure it was tuned accurately. Then I tuned the Incra to be 90* to the blade. That was it. All the other angles follow from the 90. Some have reported the need to put a paper shim behind the head to get it 90* to the table, but I didn't find that necessary.

Thanks for your advice ........ John
I use Incra's 1000SE from Woodcraft. I like the repeatibility of the angles because of the presets and the extra depth of cut without a sled. After I adjusted it to my miter slot (about 20 minutes time) it cuts true and has stayed in alignment.
