Was gone for 5 years in Greece, had my fill of teargas!!! I noticed someone took my old user name “benchdog”!!!
So, any of the old crowd still around? What’s new in the woodworking world in Chicago?

"So, any of the old crowd still around?"
Alas, not many.
YO, YO, YO, DOG !
as the young and hip say. Do they still say that ?
How's it ?
Nah dude nah it is like a cemetery here. I think even Larry left. I screwed up and said that the finish plane I bought from him was exceptionally fine and how much I liked it. That was the last straw. Haven't heard from him since.
Do you know about The Burl wood chat ?
Much livelier over there, more like a carnival (where everybody has gone home) than our cemetery. Sorry . . . trying to introduce a little humor into a sorry assed state of affairs.
PS: nope I am wrong, this week they are talking about real woodworking. Good stuff too. I try to stay out of Derek's hair and stay over here.
Over . . .
I've checked in on knots for quite a while. It used to be much better (format, content, participants), so i really don't look at it much anymore. What are the other good woodworking message sites? I know woodweb is big, but their format/software is awful.
Other sites
The Burl has a few old Knotheads, and runs on Delphi, so the user interface is similar to the old Knots.
Come over to The Burl and liven things up over there. http://www.theburlforum.com
I give away free The Burl T-shirts to members who surpass 1000 postings. I'm not worried about paying out because no one is even close and probably never will be.

Good thing the challenge is for whole posts, not word-count. ;-)
