If you REALLY want perfect miters
Didn’t know this is what it takes, but here’s a pic:
Only $1500 on Craig’s List Seattle. New one stated to be $5K. Anyone ever operated one of these? I certainly don’t want one, but curious about it, LOL.

I also heard someone say one time that you can take the girl out of the bushes...but she won't like it. ;-)

It's a metal cutting double head miter machine. That's why the cutting fluid. They are often used for commercial doors and windows, store fronts, steel fabrication, frames, etc.

So what you're saying is, it cannot be used in conjunction with a #9 and a shooting board???
LOL <G>

I think it might cut a #9 in bronze, probably not enough capacity for a shooting board. It would be kind of slow on iron. öBeat it to fit / Paint it to match
So what you're saying is, it cannot be used in conjunction with a #9 and a shooting board???My Stanley #4 works as well!
My wife has one made by Pistorius (made in the USA) that she used to manufacture picture frames. And yes, about as accurate as anyone can get. You can adjust that thing to millionths of an inch.
These sorts of saws can be used in the picture frame industry, window making, etc., etc. Industrial they are!

Tent sale?!? When? Where?
I've been dreaming about driving down from Canada one weekend with a big 5-ton truck (which I don't have) and buying lots of Grizzly machinery like a bandsaw, lathe, planer (all of which I already have) and pay with cash (which I don't have).Chris @ flairwoodworks

Someone on the board posted info on the Grizzly Tent Sale a while back. I don't remember who posted the info or when it is. So if anyone reads this thread and knows the answer, please post it.

Steve, according to my Grizzly catalogue there will be tent sales in:
Muncy, PA May 17th and September 13th.
Bellingham, WA June 21st.
Springfield, MO June 7th.
A word to the wise: My son and I went to the tent sale In Springfield, MO last year and I purchased a G0572 hanging air filter in a tent. The tag on the filter said there was nothing wrong with it but scratched paint on the outside well that wasn't the only problem. The fan (squirrel cage) was bent and could not be straightened, cost was about $50 for the parts to fix it. Otherwise we picked up some smaller bargains from the sale and bought a couple thousand dollars worth of new tools inside (2 drill presses, a joiner, and a bandsaw" which we are happy with. My 2 cents.
I think something that size would tip the balance of Bainbridge Island.
Can you work with water on the floor of your shop :)
