I while back I reported that I may have
Good Morning to all !!
A while back I posted I may have to move my shop. That the guy wanted me out. I really don’t want to move, and his wife didn’t want me to move either. So her and I made up a lease ( she owns the property )
I went to see a lawyer to see if I was within my legal rights, In the mean time he put his utility trailer in the shop after he moved some of my stuff back.
I was informed by the lawyer that I was within my legal rights, and that I should give him 24 hrs. to get his trailer out. He also said that I could tell him in writing that he had 3 options.
One he could remove the trailer.
Two I would remove the trailer.
Three I would remove the trailer with the Ontario Provincial Police present. ( I want a witness as he has some equipment in the trailed and I don’t want him saying I took it. )
When I got to the shop yesterday low and behold he had parked his pick up truck in front of the garage door to my shop, preventing me or anyone else from removing the trailer.
I have called the O.P.P. and they will be on site Monday A. M.

Jack, a personal opinion here: You may win the battle, but you've already lost the war. Why in the world you would want to stay in that shop is beyond me. The guy is a jerk, and he isn't going to change, and the completely deteriorated "relationship" that exists between the two of you is a curse on any time you spend in the shop. Doesn't matter that the shop is affordable and convenient! It is a hell-hole now.

I am staying there because, I already have it set up the way I want it. 2nd it has a wood stove and I have all my fire wood for the winter, it is insulated, the lighting is good.
I am 77 years old and I live on a small pension, and that's all I can afford, and the hydro is included in the rent. The shop is 16 X 60 with a 9 ft. ceiling. And I only pay $ 150.00 per month. I have looked at other shops, one at $ 800.00 per month ( no wood stove ) lighting is some thing to be desired. another one I looked at $ 100.00 per month and I would have to pay for hydro, and no lighting. It would cost me at least $ 3000.00 to build walls, insulate, do the wiring, purchase fluorescent fixtures and lamps, drywall, etc, etc, and them there is overhead propane radiant heating, but I would have to get someone in to separate my portion, from the other part of the bulding.
I can not afford this kind of money, so that is why I am staying put, otherwise I would have to sell all my tools and give up what I love to do.
Jack
sparky,
take pictures of everything, inside and out.
if you haven't already, post a no parking sign
document events, time and date.
if possible, talk to this bum, explain you already have an agreement with his wife. shift burden to this guy, i.e. it's a done deal.
change the locks.

conversely, you could switch gears and help this guy find a new place for his trailer- catching more flies with honey than vinegar.Expert since 10 am.
Sparky,
Listen to Forestgirl, she is right ... or listen to me, ...whack the bastard, bed the wife and stay there for free ! ha ha haaaa.
I already told you that !

You'll be sorry........

Mapleman ! This guy is a Pinhead, A Bully, and a smart ####, I can't and wont let him bully me, I have rights and I am sticking to my guns. I will not cow down to him, and I am sure you would not do it yourself.
Jack
Hey Jack,
I would agree this guy sounds like a jerk. However, while I admire your gusto, I think you may be fighting an uphill battle. I wish you the best of luck.
Cheers,
Lee
My bigger concern is that this guy is half-a-ton short of a full load. He is so full of anger and himself that I would be very frightened of him. Do you think he has any arms in the house? Some battles are worth losing so as not to lose the war. I would still strongly urge you to let your attorney battle it out with him, not you directly.
Jack, did I miss something. You WIFE owns the property, but some other guy is giving you a hard time over the lease? Oh well, as much as I hate to lose, I'm afraid that I have to vote with Forestgirl. You may win the battle, but have lost the war. I wish you well.Woody
"You WIFE owns the property...." It isn't Jack's wife who owns the property, it's The Jerk's wife.
Thanks for the vote though, maybe I could take a position in the Cabinet.... oops, don't wanna go there, no politics. Never mind.forestgirl -- you can take the girl out of the forest, but you can't take the forest out of the girl ;-)
Greetings Jack ,
I do see the value you don't want to give up . I'm hoping this will just be a minor bump in your memory after it gets smoothed out .
With the legal document perhaps an addendum or form of not allowing interference of your rented premises by the husband including the parking if there is any . Depending if you are an actual business then possibilities exist for some form of restraining order after documenting prior events .
This lease or agreement should clearly state certain facts , one such being typically the landlord must give 24 or 48 hours notice to enter the building in some regions .
best of luck to you

Jack Good Luck! You will need it.
I really hope all goes well for you but I doubt it. I'd bet a dollar to a hole in a doughnut this guy will go off the deep end and you will be the looser.
These controlling 'A' type nut-cakes go off really easy and can get really nasty. They kill folks for less that what you are doing. Extreme cases I'm sure, but these types are all around us.
Place a no parking police will tow, sign on the door he blocked while the police are present.
The police don't like jerks or bullies either.maybe the police need to have a private talk with him as well. Please keep us informed, the lawyer involvement will work.Ron
