One piece of useful info for those who want to help: What type of fence do you have on your saw?? Some ride on a back rail, some don't.
Yes Forestgirl I would like it to ride on the rail.

Jack, the question is: Does your fence ride on a back rail? The design of an outfeed table depends in part on the answer to that question. And a couple of other questions that were asked right after I posted mine. See especially this post from Fank Drackman.
By describing your specific machine and your needs, you will get responses more pertinent to what you want.
Have fun and good luck. An outfeed table does make life in the shop much more convenient and efficient.forestgirl -- you can take the girl out of the forest, but you can't take the forest out of the girl ;-)
sparky,
In concert with forestgirls observation, do you want the runners of your crosscut sled to ride in dados cut into the outfeed table or will the outfeed table be positioned such that the runners slide on its top sans dados?
Of course I'm assuming that you use a crosscut sled.

In addition to the other great questions that have been posted:
Will it be permanently attached in a fixed location?
Have to fold down when not in use?
Is you saw on a mobile base so that the outfeed table will have to move with it?
Here is how I did mine. The Delta Unisaw/Unifence does not require a back rail attachment.
The unit is mounted on an HTC mobile base and rolls easily. I added drawers for router accessories which made the package a little tippy so I added a 1/2" pipe support mounted on pipe flanges - top and bottom. Now, when I want to move the unit I just screw the pipe flange up 1/4" and roll away.
P.S. I got the router table top from Woodpeckers.
