I have a new website. I really didn’t think I could do this – and I was right! With a lot of help from a local specialist, basically teaching me what to do, I have completed a fair wack of its design and re-editing my articles, which have now been uploaded. There are still some links to go in, for example you will need to backspace out of articles.
Some of the files are large as I wanted to keep each article as a single page. The file images are small (40 Kb) and should load quite quickly, but they may need to be reduced even more (to 20 Kb).
There is still missing stuff, such as contact details, etc, but otherwise it is functional. Note that links to the old address (on wkfinetools) no longer work.
The new address is: www.inthewoodshop.com
There are already a couple of new articles, and a few more on the way. I hope you enjoy the site and use it as a reference. All feedback is welcomed to improve matters.

Thank you for the update. Your web-site is a great read for occasional tune-ups when I stray from basics...

Thanks Derek,
I have never been successful in getting a shooting board to work properly so I look forward to trying the little things you suggest / Al
Derek,
Congratulations on the new site. It looks great; well organized and easy to navigate. I take it that young fellow on your home page is your son. ;-)

Thanks Chuck
Heh .. I needed that boost. However, if you want a picture of my son, then you should read The Orange Block Plane.
The presentation of the site needs quite a bit of work. I am a real novice. So it will get done, but slowly as it it is all trial-and-error stuff. All suggestions welcomed.

Hi Derek,
I see you're using the Veritas plow plane in one of the pictures. How do you find it? I was thinking of purchasing one as I prefer quiet to shrieking banshee. I have the Veritas router plane, as I see you also have, and I use it often.
Is that a picture of cricketers in your sons bedroom, by the new shelving?
Best regards,
Paul
Hi Derek,Please ignore the last request. I just saw that you have review posted. Many thanks, I will be reading in 2 secs.Cheers,
Paul

Hi Paul
Hope the review of the plough planes was helpful.
The poster in my son's bedroom features tennis, specifically The Hopman Cup, at which he was a ballboy/ballperson/ballthingy/ballfetcha a few years ago.

Hi Derek,Thank you for writing these excellent reviews. I believe that you've convinced me that a Veritas plow/plough plane should go on my short list. Congrats on the website. It's very informative and makes for interesting reading and viewing.Best regards,
Paul
derek,
Excellent! It's now in My Favorites.
The Brace is exquisite.
Psssstttt, I'm assuming that the saddle square and dovetail markers are standing in line to be added........... Now just package those up with a nice marking knife and you'll make a bundle!
