I’ve decided to finally move up from my low end HVLP unit, probably to the Fuji 4 stage. I’ve been using a bleeder gun with siphon feed quart cup, and know its drawbacks (bulky and awkward in smaller casework), and the advantages of the quart cup when doing a larger piece, or production run. I’ve never used a gravity cup, which will have about half the effective capacity, since it should be good to the last drop. In a video I watched, it appeared the gravity cup was somewhat adjustable, allowing for the awkward positions sometimes encountered in cases. I’ll probably also get the whip hose to further increase maneuverability. I’m looking for experienced users’ pros and cons.
Thanks

I use both, the gravity guns I own are good (DeVilbiss) but don't have the ability to adjust the angle of the cup, which is probably only necessary when spraying the under side of eg a shelf that can't be flipped over. The siphon gun pickup can be rotated to allow odd angle attack so that may influence your thinking. In terms of use I find them fairly even, that is I don't have a favourite, I just use the gravity on 2 packs to get it all out of the cup & the siphon for pre-cat coz what's left can go back in the tin. I might add that I turned to HVLP using a compressor rather than the turbine systems because I already had a good compressor and it is so much quieter. There have been a few threads going back sometime on this subject so it may be worthwhile looking them up before shelling out your hard earned $.

Don't forget there is a third option, when using a compressor for the air supply, the pressure feed, which allows you to use a cut attached to the gun, but for larger operations, shift to a pressure pot. eliminating the cup at the gun entirely.
