Hi – the title pretty much says it all – anyone have any ideas on how I can make my own Craftsman style pyramid plugs? I don’t have a lathe, and they don’t have to actually “plug” the hole – I can just glue the pyramid over the hole. I am looking to make them from a plank of wood.

I'm assuming you are referring to the small square buttons, usually made of a contrasting wood and set proud of the surface, used to cover round dowel pins or as simple decoration?
One method would be to chisel a square depression (square mortising chisels for mortising machines have been recommended for this), then cut a short length of a square stick of the same size, glue it in place, and then chamfer the edges with a block plane.
Hi Joe,
Check out this link, I think it is what you are looking for. I have done this a few times and it works great.
