Does anyone have any idea of the dollar amount of revenue from tablesaws sold in a given year in the U.S. Perhaps a link?

Very unlikely you will find such info on the web and it would be very suspect in accuracy.
Why do you need to know?
Sheer curiosity. Nothing vital and a general ballpark is plenty good enough.
Interesting thought... Given the DIY renovation craze, I bet the numbers for low end table saws are fairly high.
It does make you wonder though... why bother with a table saw for DIY renovation projects? Really I've done the basement in my house, and helped out with a total house reno. With the exception of some flooring I've never needed a table saw. I suppose if someone was using lots of raw material it would come in handy... but that's barely DIY reno, you have to be fairly skilled to do it.
When I take the kids for walks I always peek into the open garage doors to see what people have going on (one of my neighbors has a wicked go cart...). I bet there are 4 or 5 table saws in my cresent alone. As far as I know, I'm the only real woodworker...
If they only knew... I think they would be better off purchasing any circular saw and guide rail...Drew
Why?.......... :)

For most home remodeler/weekend warrior types I think they end up with a table saw for one of 2 reasons... they either want to break down sheet goods... or think that the table saw is what you use to cut miters or to rip 6 inch wide pieces of laminate flooring. I am sure you have watched someone try to push a 3/4th inch of ply or particle board into a half horse bench top table saw... the only good thing there is the kickback will usually push the saw the other direction off the bench and the guys hand is several feet away from the blade... For each of these uses (except cutting miters which would be safer and work better if they would get a mitre box and a hand saw as well as a coping saw) a circular saw with a guide would work better and probably be safer... they just do not know it. I am not saying that a table saw is less important... useful... or needed... I have had a cabinet saw in my garage since I was a kid... I am just saying that in most cases it is not the best tool for the job of a weekend warrior...Drew
Hi Drew,
I was just being playful. My apologies. I thought I might stir up another Festool debate.
You are absolutely right. :>)

I agree. Job sites are where these saw truly excel. A home reno is the same.
