Hi all,
I have a extra motor with which I would like to make a disc sander.
I know what to do and how to do it, but I can’t seem to find the plate (not sure the correct term) or mounting arbor for the paper. I’d be looking for the standard size so I could buy the paper easily. I need something that will slip onto the shaft of the motor and lock onto the flat machined onto the end with a set screw.
I looked through Klingspor’s website and spent way too long paging through the MSC catalog, but I can’t seem to find it.
I know they are out there ’cause I’ve used and seen other homemade rigs.
Ideas?
Thanks,
Kit

I found it with a Google search for
"disk sander" parts
Vanderpooch,
I've built one of these some time ago; I got the arbor for the motor from Menard's (like HD or Lowe's) and the disc from Sears. They sell it as a sanding disc for the tablesaw. The abrasive I use with it is just a 10" PSA sanding disc available at most online suppliers. Good luck with your machine construction!
