Is tha an American chestnut?
Frank
Toronto,Ontario lucky tree eh!
Strange.. My neighbor has a chestnut but it has just one trunk and MUCH smaller.. I know for a fact that the tree is over 90 years old because of a dated picture of the property.
His tree in HALF the size of yours.. Dang... Stunted from Chicago smog?
That is a "horsechestnut" or "buckeye", http://www.cnr.vt.edu/dendro/dendrology/syllabus/factsheet.cfm?ID=189.
It's not the famous American Chestnut (Castanea dentata).
Beat it to fit / Paint it to match
