   dave, braces are one of the most common tools out there in the antique/yard sale market. of there are any antique shops in your area, i would bet one of them has an old brace festering somewhere. lee valley tools has an inexpensive new brace if you can't find an older one on your area...

   I agree with VP -- braces are a dime a dozen (well, almost) in the yard sale and estate auction market.  I'll look around when I get home from work and see if I have an extra.  In the days when I used to go to auctions all the time, I'm sure I picked up a few in box lots and such.  Got rid of most of that stuff, but may have an extra.  What size do you need?

   i have four of varying condition- all functional- and pedigree that i paid the grand sum of $8 plus about $5 postage for on ebay.  happy hunting

   Mitch, I'm not sure why your post is addressed to me...Dave is looking for the braces -- are you offering to sell, or merely bringing eBay to light?  At any rate, if you're offering to sell, pop back up to post #1 and drop Dave a line.  Me?  I'm not hunting, but will take a look in the back of my cupboard for Dave.  {hmmm, not to see if he's there, but to see if a brace is there}forestgirl -- you can take the girl out of the forest, but you can't take the forest out of the girl   ;-)
