Help! I think I’m in love. Need a $1000.
Greetings, I have just recieved the January catalog from Woodcraft and there it hit me. The Clifton Multiplane with all the trimmings. Have any of you used this plane? Can any of you give me some advice? Have already begun to scrimp and save. Old Duke is down to half a can of Alpo and I’m reconstituting my Maxwell coffee.

thebig, Chickory in your coffee tastes better than sawdust
I suspect nowadays some cheaper brands already add chickory.
That practice was unlawful years ago (Adulteration)
But now It's considered 'Natural' and healthy. Stein
Hey Big, good news, I can save you $900. Go to Ebay and get the original, the Stanley 45. The Clifton is a copy of the Stanley, and not worth a penny more. A user 45, with all the parts, will go for about $100 or $250 for a near perfect example. Plus, then you have a collector's item that isn't made anymore. If you really want combo plane nirvana, find a Stanley 55. 55 regular cutter profiles, and 41 additional special cutters available. That one will boggle your mind, especially the first time you try to set it.
