I need help in locating a local source for planer blades for my Ridged 13″planer. Went to the local H.D. store and they do not carry them. Tried to order them and got the runaround that lasted 4 weeks. Went to another one and they say 14 to 21 days lead time. This is unacceptiable, They sell this stuff at the wood shows with the assurance that the parts will be available and are not. If you haven’t got the drift, I am ticked off with H.D. and their part time help. Am in the market for a jointer, guess what type I will not buy. Sorry if I am sounding off but money does not grow on trees and I feel abused. Be careful what you buy.

Have you tried the HD web site? I've bought stuff off it, with lead times pretty much like any other e-commerce site -- much better than ordering at the store.
Home Depot should carry the blades but they've never been strong on customer service.
The manual that comes with the planer has an 800 number for customer service and parts. I've found that parts ordered directly from Ridgid were delivered via UPS or Fed Ex in just a couple of days. It's a great planer, as were most of the Ridgid tools, it was a shame that Home Depot was the only source for them.
