Can you read my post in the Power tools section of the blogs? I was following an article I downloaded from FWW and tore up my miter saw blade and narrowly avoided having a blade tooth permanently implanted somewhere in my body. I don’t know what I did wrong and if its the article, someone should probably pull it.
Thanks
Marty

Help – destroyed blade on Mitre Saw

Using only one clamp way out on the end of the right angled fence would allow it to easily pivot towards the saw blade under the force of the blade against the stock, which would cause the blade to grab the stock in the way you described.
The original set up shown in the Hints and Tips, with two clamps solidly holding down the fence, is a safe set up.
