I’m trying to figure out how to lift the infeed and outfeed table assembly for a newly purchased Grizzly jointer onto its cabinet. I bought a chain hoist and straps with enough capacity to lift the 350 pound assembly but I need advice on rigging the hoist. Do I need a trolly and i-bars or can I rely on bolting the hoist to the floor joists in my basement shop? If I need a rig, can I use 2×4’s? I need to lift the load about 3 1/2 feet.
Thanks for the help.

Ted,
350 pounds can be easily supported by even a single floor joist, the weight is no worse than that of a couple of people standing next to each other on the floor above.

Thanks John, I appreciate the answer and the rapidity of it as well. Have a Merry Christmas.
