I would also post this to the “Ask The Expert” forum to John White. He is the resident machinery expert and may be able to discern what if anything would need replacing starting in a methodical manner to determine what is out of sync/round.

PS: too lazy to go look in White questions.
I had enough energy to stroll over to Ask the Experts, despite the dad-blasted head cold that's settled on me this weekend. Looks like John has already answered his post. If I give you a link, do ya think you can scare up the zip to get over there?http://forums.taunton.com/fw-experts/messages?msg=2816.1forestgirl -- you can take the girl out of the forest, but you can't take the forest out of the girl ;-)
Your fortitude and stamina puts me to shame forestgirl !I think I am just all grumpy that medicinedog has not returned my e-mails. I hope he is OK. Things happen. I put in a bunch of time looking through a year of mags to find his info. I have not heard back whether or not I found what he was looking for. It is driving me crazy.I gotta let it go . . . just let it go. . . . BUT I NEED CLOSURE . . . just let it goooo . . .thanks for listening
I feel better now

medicinedog, hmmmm, I must have missed that one. What kind of info? (I think we can hijack this thread, as it doesn't seem to actually exist any longer, LOL!)
As for fortitude and stamina, hardly! I'm just hanging out here because I don't dare enter the shop. My brain is mush, and the vision bleary -- this is before the drugs kick in. Yesterday, I thought the cold was a minor inconvenience, but today it kicked into high gear. I got through a schooling session with one horse, got both arenas harrowed (last day of the pay period, rack up the hours!) then came home and crashed. Recliner, big TV, and a glass of "Airborne". Soon to bed, hope for sleeeeep.forestgirl -- you can take the girl out of the forest, but you can't take the forest out of the girl ;-)

Post: "Need help finding back issue"I tried to copy the address to it directly on this line but that never seems to work any more for me when I go and test it ? ! ? Sorryhttp://forums.taunton.com/fw-knots/messages?msg=45163.1Get wellPS: I am serious about not drinking tap water especially in winter. I boil or get fresh filtered water from Safeway self serve filtering station. That has been my secret cold and flu weapon for a decade. Has served me VERY well. The SW machine is serviced every week or so ( there is a sign off on the machine for the tech so you can keep tabs on it ). Kills germs with ultra violet light. My reason why municipal tap water chlorine less effective in winter: water is much colder in the storage tanks in winter; power of chlorine to kill bugs is reduced chem reaction works best when warmer. No data to back it up. We swear by it in this house. No body believes us around here.Edited 2/1/2009 12:51 am by roc

Roc, to get the URL for a post, you need to go to the post number, right click, and select "Copy Shortcut." For instance, the number for this post I'm typing should be 45247.8, upper right-hand corner of the post. Knots is unlike most places -- you can't just copy the URL that's in the address box at the top of the browser. Has something to do with "frames" I think....
Water: we're on a well. Iron pipes, though, so I don't drink it often, has a funny smell. If it's left to run until the water standing in the pipes is gone, the water becomes cold and very tasty. We use Safeway water too, for mixing up the Airborne or any juices, and for the hummingbird food.
Hand-to-mouth is the most likely suspect for becoming afflicted with the common cold. Or being in the way of a big AhhhhChooooo! I think my immune system was down too, I was rather depressed the last few days --death in the rider-family I belong too, really great lady, just gone.....forestgirl -- you can take the girl out of the forest, but you can't take the forest out of the girl ;-)
Sorry for your loss. That must be awful.thanks for straightening me out on Copy Short cut
Hey it worked !>water
don't forget ice in drinks at a restaurant counts.Mostly like you said : stress to your system from recent events and contact with contaminated surfaces.
roc,
Betcha it's a/was a Delta 22-580 not a Dewalt. Aint no such model for Dewalt.

A Woodworkers mind should be the sharpest tool in the shop!
Yeah, it was -- see my link above. Poor guy took it in for servicing some problem, and it came back really messed up. Reading the latest post, it seems he found the problem (operator error) and all is well.
Can't fault him for the name glitch -- if he's anywhere close to my age, we're lucky to get in the right mental file drawer (the D's) let alone find the right name. Stress'll do that too, LOL.forestgirl -- you can take the girl out of the forest, but you can't take the forest out of the girl ;-)
Ahhhhh, all is well no fault intended.
Wanna hear a good un?
A few years ago when getting ready to go to a woodworking show the wife asked me if I had decided on which planer I was going to get. I told her I was pretty sure it will be the Delta 22-580.
Couple days later and I had all the spiffy new tools set up the wife came into the woodshop and said, "Hey, how come the new planer is yellow? Doesn't look the same as the others."
The Dewalt was a better deal.
