Does anyone know of a good hardwood supplier, custom mill for exotics in the Los Angeles area? I know of the House of Hardwood and Andersons but between them I cannot find the unusual pieces that I often seek (Be they larger slabs or more highly figured boards). As usual any help is appreciated.

What is the quantity of material you are looking for? If its short orders Rockler has lumber many times on sale.
Reel Lumber service in Anaheim on Krammer off the 91 fwy.
Isenbrand in Torrance.
You might try Lane Stanton Vance in Diamond Bar. I don't know about slabs but they do have a nice supply of exotic woods and they are pretty helpful. It's tricky to find though.
Good Luck, Jim
Thank you both for the leads. I have already looked up the sites and they look very promising.
hey chris,
bohnhoff lumber company is the best. large inventory good service. they cater to the small shops in that they allow one to pick through a pallet. i've dealt with them for many years and highly recommend them.

Do you or anyone else know any suppliers in the LA area of black melamine?
Russell
Funny that I started this post and that you asked that question. I am also in need of some black melamine. I just checked the site for Anderson Plywood on Sepulveda and they list it as one of the products that they carry. Hope it is what you need.
hey russ,
bohnhoff will most likely order it for you. when i worked in the real world, phillips plywood was often a source for sheet goods. hopefully they're still at it.

Forest Plywood may be another source for that, and if memory serves, I think Royal Plywood and Cal Panel also carry a full line of melamine.
